KBShimmer Summer 2014

You can probably guess which ones I chose. Or maybe not!

Continued after the jump...

You all knew I had to choose Radiant Orchid, so let's start with that.

Radiant Orchid is a lovely violet orchid creme polish in honor of Pantone's Color of the Year for 2014, which, in all its variations is probably my "signature shade" if I have one. Has been forever and I'm so thrilled to see something I love finally as Color of the Year. KBShimmer did a great job with their version! Creamy, smooth and perfectly self-leveling. I used 2 coats and no top coat for the photos. (The black accent nail in some photos is KBShimmer Eclipse and you'll see why later.)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You're So Shell-fish is a near-neon orange-leaning coral and I just couldn't capture all the nuances of this beauty. The one photo in indirect natural lighting *almost* shows the neon qualities. Great formula, no issues at all. Two coats and no top coat for the photos.

This is the closest representation of this polish

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With July Fourth coming up, I couldn't resist this red, white and blue glitter.

Red, White and Blue-tiful is a clear-based glitter topper with red, silver holo and blue stars and a generous helping of smaller glitters and shimmer in the same shades. No issues at all - the glitters suspended well in the base and came out easily. I used 2 coats over KBShimmer Sky Jinks (with Salon Perfect Sugar Cube on the accent nail in some photos) and one coat of top coat.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And finally I chose Periwinkle in Time because, well, it's periwinkle! I can't resist a great periwinkle even if it does wreak havoc on my camera.

Periwinkle in Time is a blue-leaning periwinkle and you can definitely see the purple undertones in person. The last two photos in indirect natural lighting are the best representation of the color. It's a crelly glitter chock full of  holographic glitters in aqua, navy blue, sliver and violet. No issues to report. I used two coats and one coat of top coat for the photos.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But wait. That's not all!! Along with the polishes I chose came a set of vinyl decals/stencils!

So I played around with them a little.

I was skeptical as most "nail art tools" really hate me. But I actually think vinyls may be my friend! I had tried some other stencils/decals the other day and didn't have the best results, but vinyl is totally different. They were easier to get off the sheet and position on the nail and much easier to remove! I will try these again.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So what do you think of the ones I chose? I definitely chose well, but I do think Happily Ever Astor and Look High and Holo should now go on my wish list. What are your favorites?
