Chanel Orage 631 - Swatches and Review

Nothing to Disclose

Hi guys! I'm back tonight with another Chanel shade I missed out on earlier in the year. I'm working on swatches of a great new holiday collection and what better way to fill the gap while you wait than with Chanel?

Orage 631 is one of 3 polishes in the Chanel États Poétiques Collection released earlier this year. I didn't pick up the other two, Secret #625 (nude) or Atmosphère #629 (sheer frost). They were too pale for me.

Continued after the jump...

Orage is one of those dark grey, near black polishes that's going to read black in a lot of lighting, but it's a dark grey with some blue undertones and a great shimmer that comes out to play in the light. It's a bit thinner than most of the Chanel polishes I've tried lately. In fact, the first coat is thin and streaky and you're unsure if a 2nd coat is going to be enough. But the 2nd coat does it. Two coats for opacity and it dries to a high shine. I used 2 coats with no top coat for the photos.

$27 for .13 mL. Available at Chanel counters nationwide and at larger department stores.

What do you think? This is a nice alternative to a pure black. Great for the season and goes with anything. I quite liked it.
