Colors by Llarowe
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

and a Comparison with Essie Starry Starry Night

You know I had to see for myself!

First up, Colors by Llarowe Twinkle Twinkle Little Star...this is a dark blue navy jelly polish with blue and silver micro-glitters. Formula and application were great. It's a jelly though, so naturally, it's buildable. I used one light coat and one medium coat but most people will get perfect results with 3 light coats.

But the question we all have - is it an Essie Starry Starry Night dupe?

Okay, so I'm not calling "exact dupe" but whatever is a hair down from that, absolutely. They are thisclosetodupestatus.

CbL TTLS is just a bit darker jelly than SSN. But the jelly formula and micro-glitter mix are spot-on.

What do you think? Dupe? Or not?

Colors by Llarowe polishes, including this one, are available at Llarowe's shop here. You can like Llarowe on Facebook and follow Llarowe on Twitter for more information and launch times. Holos retail for $12.00, glitters retail for $10.00 and jellies retail for $6.00. Be sure to sign up for the re-stock emails!

  1. Total dupe. If you only know the difference when you're staring at them reeeeeally haaard in just the right light, it's close enough to be a dupe.

  3. The Essie is $125 on eBay so this is definitely dupe-enough for me :D

  7. Would you say TTLS has a smooth finish when dry? I have such trouble with glitter-containing nail polishes, they all take on this weird gravelly texture (and lose their shine) after a day or two, no matter what topcoats or basecoats I use.

    1. Yes, it's a jelly so it's smooth. I used one coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to preserve the mani and didn't have any issues at all! ♥

  8. I can see the difference in the blue base, and I actually prefer the Llarowe color myself, so I'm totally getting that one! Crossing SSN off my lem-list, for sure...
