Holo Top Coat

Tonight I have a linear holo top coat to show you - Leather and Lace from Colors by Llarowe.

Continued after the jump...

As you can guess, since it's a top coat, it can be layered over ANY color to make it into a linear holo. The darker the polish the better because it will dull the color slightly, as any of them do. And you'll probably see this over a multitude of colors, so I'm going to show you over black and white.

Formula and application were perfect. ONE coat over both the black and the white and I did use one coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top over them as well to show that a top coat doesn't dull the holographic properties. No issues to report at all.

First over a plain black creme...

And over a plain white creme...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What do you think? Do you have a holo top coat yet? I frankened my own a year or two ago, using loose spectraflair and plain top coat and I can tell you that having this, in a suspension base, is infinitely better! Less dulling of the colors, no shaking for hours to mix it back up...perfect.

Colors by Llarowe polishes, including this one, are available at Llarowe's shop here. You can like Llarowe on Facebook and follow Llarowe on Twitter for more information and launch times. Holos retail for $12.00, glitters retail for $10.00 and jellies retail for $6.00. Be sure to sign up for the re-stock emails!

  3. When this arrived this week, I swatched it over an entire nail wheel's worth of colors...I preferred it over Illamasqua Cameo and Mod Laquer Time Shift, both blues. You made it look great, I think I was laying it on too thick and getting too much silvery sheen blocking the darker colors....

  4. A holo top coat - what a great idea, and beautiful over white. I have a couple of Layla holos and I don't care much for them. Bald and patchy application. Definitely going to try this one!
