  7. Congratulations on two years of nail blogging! I completely love your blog, and your swatches often give me new wishlist polishes to long for. I'm lemming for quite a few polishes in this giveaway, especially Elevation Polish Toubkal and those Ninja Polish lacquers.

I read your general post about Amy and Rory's goodbye on Doctor Who. I'm only up to Season 4 of the DW revival myself, but I'm on tumblr and thus absorbed a lot of info about The Angels Take Manhattan via osmosis. Christopher Eccleston's Doctor is my favourite out of him and Tennant - probably due to tumblr's over-the-top obsession with Tennant as much as my dislike for the character!

Anyway, happy blogiversary again, and good luck for all the blogging to come!

  9. I read "The Older I Get..." -- as you say, it's sensible to listen to feedback. And, sometimes, depending on the product, the splurge proves to be worth it from a mental health perspective, and that's a significant. I just splashed out on Bliss' Peeling Groovy and it's proving to be worth every penny!

  38. "Dog in the Drink....with Barnacles" - That must have been quite an adventure for a lazy day. Haha! Thank God you were wearing jeans, and that the wounds weren't so bad. Awww, I love that she's such an obedient and smart dog! The best part was that she trusted you enough and completely did not panic! Haha, it must have been quite a work out for her as well seeing how she sleeps soundly on the couch! Glad that both of you were okay in the end :)

Andddd Happy Bloggiversary!!!!! Awww two years old!! *sprinkles sparkling glitters all around~*

  41. Congrats! I read Day 2 of Moroccan Argan Oil Hair Cream, then went back and read Got Curly Hair? Kind of glad I don't have curly hair, mine is a mess with fizzy ness the way it is. xD

    ReplyDelete
  42. Congratulations on your two years! So many wonderful and beautiful nail polishes - I couldn't decide which to enter specifically so I just entered them all :3 I do have to say that my faves are the Above the Curve and Ninja Polishes though ^-^

Also, I was reading your post about Kinky Curly Hair and I totally sympathize with you. My hair's not nearly as curly as yours but it's pretty unmanageable in it's own right. Mine's all thick and wavy/curly (not sure what exactly it could be called) and I can never wear it down because it looks like its trying to eat my head.

People tell me that because I wear it up all the time that I should just cut it short and I would if I had other choices other than a boy cut which is about the only cut that my thick hair won't poof with *sigh*

Anywho, good luck and have fun with the giveaway!! Good luck to us all! ^-^

  56. Day 2 of Moroccan Argan Oil Hair Cream. For some reason I always forget your hair, probably because your nails are so incredible. But I have been reading in a group on Ravelry about Curly Girl styles and cuts and and and. And this post works in with that. And now I think I have to email that CG info to my sister, your hair looks so much like hers, and particularly the part where you HAVE to put it up!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Congrats! I read Thank Goodness for Quilted Toilet Paper.

  58. I ended up reading a few of your posts but I will go with Valentine's Day, Dodge Ball and Life... because I can totally relate to it and used to be the same way myself, which is scary! lol

    ReplyDelete
  63. Happy Blogiversary! I read Day 2 of Moroccan Argan Oil Hair Cream. I have curly hair, too and have recently discovered how great argan oil is for my hair (and skin and nails).

    ReplyDelete
  64. Congratulations on two years! So awesome. I'm off to read a few entities, but I just read your wonderful post about your mom (and Super Bowl). When I clicked in the general post it brought up a list of "favorites" instead, so I'm going through them looking for the ones that are likely non-manicure focused. But reading about your mama was beautiful.

  72. Congratulations on two years! :)
I read your "Music Stirs my Soul" post. Did you know that the brain can recognize music even when you can't? Music has a strange power over the mind.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I read "Dcotor Who? Goodbye Amy and Rory"

I'm more disappointed with losing Amy, she was a great companion. I'm not happy with the way the new writers make the Doctor... kind of an idiot. I don't think anyone will ever be better than David Tennant. That being said, it's still a great show and I will still watch it, it's still a lot better than a lot of crap that is out there, but I wish certain things were different.

  74. I always enjoy your blog; congrats on 2 years! I read Basset Buddies Rescue, Inc. for my entry, although I also read most of the others. lol

    ReplyDelete
  75. I read your post called Big Girl Panties. I think a friendship should be strong enough to be able to be completely honest like that to each other. I've have quite a few of those moments where either someone has told something I'm doing wrong or I've had to tell them. Either way, it works out in the end!! It has to be done! Congrats on two years!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I read the "Rat, Monkey and Y-Chromosomes" post, it made me happy :) Only clicking on the "general posts" button wasn't doing anything for me so I had to search for it, good thing you listed a few suggestions!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Happy blogaversary!
I remember reading The Older I Get when you first published it and it really got me thinking. I don't care how much money people spend, I never did, but I like how you placed it in a perspective. Now I reread it and I still like both what you said and the way you said it.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Thanks for the Giveaway!

  81. Congrats! How exciting! I think I read all your non polish related blogposts when you published them. What really caught my attention is the post "Nail Polish Auction for Basset Buddies Rescue, Inc." I really love that you have rescue dogs. I have two rescue cats, Freja and Sture, and 4 more liveing her temporarily since I'm a rescue home. And the pic of Twinki (on a boat) is just adorable!

Congrats again and I hope you'll continue bloging for several more years!

  82. Congrats! And what a great giveaway! As a dog-lover I had to read "Basset Buddies Rescue, Inc." Unfortunately I don't have time for a dog now, but I miss having one around. I grew up with dogs... I hope that my life situation wil change one day, and maybe I will be able to get a new dog then. I have thought about getting a rescue dog one day. There are so many dogs out there who need good homes!

  83. The one post that I remember reading and stuck in my mind A LOT was the one where you had to catch that snake in your dining room... I think it was titled "Eating my own words" I was soo freaked out since we dont have snakes here...I think i'd totally scream like the wimpy girl i am haha... Congrats on two years!! Here's to many many more :)

    ReplyDelete
  84. Congrats on your 2nd blogiversary! Thanks for the giveaway! I read "The older I get.." and it sets me thinking. Sometimes people aren't really concerned about how you could use the money you spurge on beauty products to benefit the society but rather, it is a human tendency to judge and to make one feel superior that way by seeming to be morally right by depising such behaviour.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Wow, what a giveaway!
I read "The Older I Get..." - as a fellow redhead full of opinions I can't help but sympathize =)) And you're spot on on judging!

I wish there were more people like you out there. I rescued a dog that was left on a chain in the back yard & they moved & left her. We had her for 13years. We just had to put her down last month.
Great post & Your baby's are gorgeous!
    Thx for the giveaway!

  107. Congratulations on Year 2!! I read the Valentines & Dodgeball....because my 11yo son LOVES dodgeball. He is wicked talented at it lol. 109. Congrats! I read the Basset Buddies Rescue, Inc., because I'm a mommy to a dog myself, a chocolate labrador, whose name is Maurice, and basically anything with the word 'dog' in it catches my attention. I was tempted to read the DW post, but as i haven't watched THE episode yet, i don't want anything to influence my judging.

I read about your Doctor (because Dr Who <3!). I'll always think of Tennant as the Doctor, but you're right. The writers have made this incarnation something else entirely :(

  114. I like your cruelty free products and decision, If I knew where to find your blog about dog I would like to see it, love animals

    ReplyDelete
  115. Congratulations, and thank you for the chance to win one of these awesome prizes!

I read "Doctor Who? Goodbye Amy and Rory" ... I'm a recent Whovian, and Matt Smith was my first Doctor. I've gone back and watched the episodes of 9 and 10, and I actually like that 11 is so human (yet so alien too). One thing about the show that I enjoy is how his experiences change him.

I have my own fascination with quilted toilet paper and I was expecting to find your blog post on it to be similar to my own odd appreciation of something thicker than tissue but I was quite surprised (and a little shamed) to find your post was more of a metaphor. Your post is spot on tho and speaking as someone who never really got into the designer jeans set, I can identify with being the odd gal out when it came to playing keep up with the fashionistas.

  117. Congrats and thank you to all the sponsors for the awesome prizes.

I read the older I get and I think what you say makes sense.. There are so many people nowadays commenting behind the screen of what you should do this and that but how often are those being said done in action..

  119. Great giveaway! Thank you!
Excellent way to think of ones financial position...at zero instead of a negative number! Can I borrow that? But on the way to quilted toilet aper, I looked t the mean girs post too. No cajones

  124. Hey! I read the one about you Kinky Curly Hair. Hahaha, for what it's worth, I think your hair is super cool ;) Thanks for hosting this amazing giveaway and congrats on the two years!

    ReplyDelete
  125. I really didn't mean to read the most recent one but find one that called to me. Valentines Day, Dodgeball and Life....who could resist that title? I subscribe through email, but have never seen your general posts come across my box. Is there a reason? I loved your post and plan on reading more! Such a voice you have, one that is hard to hear in polish posts. Love you even more now (tee hee).

    Oh, and congrats!

  126. Hi!

I read your article about memories. I liked it a lot.

  128. Hi Sheila, I read the Kinky Curly Hair post. Curly hair isn't as easy as wash-and-go. I'm still trying to find that product that defines my curls, repells frizz, doesn't weigh my hair down or leave it feeling greasy. Until then, the search continues :)

    ReplyDelete
  129. Many heartfelt congratulations! I've already lost the title and I love all your posts, but the one dated 0201 about ppl complaining some others don't spend enough on charity but have the gall to spend a fortune on a name brand is outstanding!

  130. I'm a new follower (in fact I'm fairly new to the Polish and Blogging worlds in general lol) but I've gone back and read quite a few of your non-Polish posts and I've Loved every one! I really, really, like your writing style! (in fact I made my husband read the Rat/Y chromosome post, but I don't think he got it :P) Anyways, for non-polish posts I think your recent post on snobbery in the beauty world was a great one because your response to that article was so well worded and I felt myself saying "Oh MY GOSH I KNOW RIGHT!!" and "Me TOO" (in my head of course). Keep up the great blog. because like so many I love to read it!!

    ReplyDelete
  131. I read quite a few, I enjoy your writing style! I most enjoyed "The Older I Get". I've always felt that judging people for having money is just as bad as judging people for not having money. I'm a kumbaya kind of thinker! If we could all just enjoy each other for our similarities AND our differences the world would be a more peaceful place. By the way, your curls are gorgeous :)

  132. Thanks so much for the giveaway! I read the "Doctor Who? Goodbye Amy and Rory" post, I'm also a Docto Who fan :)

    Congrats on your Blogaversary!:o)

  158. I think I posted already to say I liked the Older I get

    ReplyDelete
  159. In fact I like it so much I commented on it BEFORE the giveaway.

But let me really comment here to say how much yours is my go-to blog. I have bought more polish thanks to your darn Scottish blog than any other blog. In a way I regret this-- but it has something to do with the fact that A. Of course your swatches are to die for and B. we love the same colors-- the wines, the fuchsias, the odd ball greens, the reds, the magentas the complex blacks-- So I am not surprised at all the polish makers who have contributed-- because you make their creations look good. And I've never won a contest and only rarely enter-- but if I did win this one it would be great because these are the colors I wear. And you had better believe I would be picking those shamrocks from NJ-- I mean how cute are they? Thanks-- Sheila and congratulations!

    ReplyDelete
  172. Congratulations on two years!! I read your "Doctor Who? Goodbye Amy and Rory" and HOO BOY, did I relate. I guess because MY Doctor was David Tennant and he was the one to make hard choices and do so bravely - to send Martha away from her family indefinitely, to erase Donna's memory, to LOSE ROSE TWICE...to see him fall apart over Amy and Rory like that (and to completely forget that River just lost her PARENTS...) it just didn't ring true. This Doctor Who seems like a series of episodes where the actors rise above their material, and it shows.
And now I'll quit talking about Doctor Who like a big giant dork. :-) Thanks for hosting this giveaway!!!
