What I've always wanted it to mean, for me, is the Hallmark Thanksgiving you see on TV - families gathering together from all parts of the world to cook together in the kitchen, watch football, have family spats, eat too much turkey and then for it to be wrapped up in a nice Frank Capra-esque bow at the end of the day.
Yeah, that never really worked out for me.
What DOES work for me is spending time with the one I love, whether or not there's turkey, and just being thankful for all that I have. Just a FEW of the things I'm thankful for this year: my dogs who bring me so much love and joy, my man who I love with all my heart, my really true friends and plenty of the worldly things that don't really mean a lot until you don't have them. So many people aren't nearly as blessed and I hope for them all of the blessing I have and more.
Thanksgiving always reminds me of autumn, even though I don't really get to enjoy that where I live, so on my nails this Thanksgiving Day, I'm wearing autumn.

I hope your Thanksgiving Day (whichever way you celebrate and it on whatever day in your own way all over the world) is filled with blessings and an abundance of people and things for which to be thankful.
XOXO,
♥ Sheila
