Chili and the BBC

♥

Note to self: Never fall asleep while watching BBCA after eating spicy food.

Results if this is ignored? One or more of these dreams may occur:

1. Traveling back in time to your old high school, trying and failing to blend in, falling down the stairs in front of everyone.

2. Being transported to a Danish friend's house that is somehow now in Wales for a "run-through" of an episode of a cooking show complete with shouting by Gordon Ramsay when the 3rd chef won't wake up and start cooking. And there's no actual food because it's a "run-through." BAH!

photo cred: fox/splash news

3. Enjoying entertainment from said Danish friend's family. Husband doing spot-on impersonations of Jeremy Clarkson and the Stig (which was just him not saying words lol) and David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor. And then begging for more Jeremy Clarkson instead of Tennant, which is just SO wrong.

4. Being scared out of your gourd when the Danish friend's twins meld into one little girl and start chanting "what goes around comes around" in the creepy voice from the Intruders promo.

5. Awakening with a start and vowing off of chili forever.

5. Being thankful for waking up to this sweet face...

Nail of the Day: Pahlish's Bespoke Sarey's Berry for mah Birthday!

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free

Well could there BE a more perfect polish for me to receive and wear on my birthday???? (Yes, I typed that in Chandler's voice.)  Seriously though - it's MY COLOR! And it has flakes. *thud*

The only problem with it is that it's so flipping hard to photograph color-accurately!

Artificial lighting was the worst...

Ah, okay. Indirect natural lighting. This is better...

Check out those FLAKES!

It's THE perfect violet orchid crelly flake polish. Just the right amount of purple and red-violet combined with loads of flakes. Great formula - 2 coats and one coat of top coat for the photos. Just amazing.

So I may have put my matching "birthday laces" in my Chucks and just partied like it was my birthday!

And my iPhone/IG "action shot" in the car...

Since this was a Bespoke polish, it won't be making a reappearance I don't think. Although something similar might! So be sure and keep an eye out for Pahlish's Bespoke polishes. I don't think there's been a bad one yet! Bespoke Batches are limited edition and one-time-stock polishes. This is due to ingredients not being available anymore or the cost being too high to produce as core colors. The prices vary. She usually puts these up on Friday evenings when they're available.

As for the regular polishes, you can purchase Pahlish on their Big Cartel site here or at Overall Beauty or Llarowe. Polishes retail for $9 and $15 for Duos.

You can also visit Pahlish on FacebookOverall Beauty on Facebook and Llarowe on Facebook for more information.

Serum No. 5: Another Year, Let's Cheer!

*This product is Cruelty Free

Today I have a special polish from Serum No. 5 - a celebration of another year! This one is called Another Year, Let's Cheer and it is, of course, a strong glow-in-the-dark polish!

Serum No. 5
Another Year, Let's Cheer

Above I'm wearing it over a gradient of Marc Jacobs Bark and plain white, which is sort of an extend-a mani and boy did it ramp it up! The ring finger has a flower from one of the new vinyls used as a stencil with Flashing Lights.

The holo shimmer was fastastic and the mix of matte pastel glitters made it very classy. It can be worn alone or over any base color. I used one coat alone over a gradient base above with one coat of top coat.

Below I have it over a base of Zoya Willow on all but the ring finger, which shows 2 coats alone. As you can see it still glows strong even as a topper. One coat of top coat for the photos.

The vinyls I received have flowers, dolphins, palm trees and waves that you can use as stickers, as stencils or like striping tape. They're shiny so it was hard to get a good photo of them. I'll be sure and show you what I do with them when I have a chance to use them! The one I did use was easy.

Meeting Victoria, the creator/"evil genius" of Serum No. 5, at CosmoprofNA in Vegas was a pleasure. She's so sweet and crazy creative!

What do you think of this one? I think it's a great way to celebrate another year! And the glow-in-the-dark properties are very strong. I charged them for about 15 seconds and the effects lasted for hours!

This polish, as well as new nail vinyls, will be available starting tomorrow, July 24, 2014 on Serum No. 5′s website here  at 12 pm PDT. Don’t forget to follow Serum No. 5 on their Facebook page and Instagram for more news and information! Serum No. 5 polishes are also coming to Llarowe in a few weeks! You can follow Llarowe on Facebook here and Instagram here for more information on the Serum No, 5 launch.

Christian Louboutin Nail Lacquers - Yes or No?

Nothing to Disclose

Happy Wednesday?

Just a quick question for you. At $50 a bottle for Christian Louboutin's new nail lacquers, will you or won't you?

Photo Cred: George Chinsee

Seeing that the story behind Loubie's red soled shoes is that he used an actual bottle of red nail polish as inspiration for the famous red sole, I guess it's only fitting that he would eventually delve into the world of nail polish.

Christian Louboutin Beauté is a joint venture between Christian Louboutin’s fashion company and New York-based Batallure Beauty.

Apparently, the signature red shade will launch August 6th in several big-named department stores and possibly even be available at Sephora. The remaining 30 shades will launch in stores world-wide August 31, 2014.

(Info from WWD - read more about it in the link)

So will you?

Me? Well I do collect nail polish but I'm not sure yet. I'll probably wait for reviews. I only collect things I USE like purses, scarves, nail polish. And if the formula isn't good or the color isn't unique to my collection, I'll probably pass. The $50 price tag wouldn't STOP me necessarily, but it would deter me. But just because of the name on the bottle? Nope.

Weekend Bits & Bobs: July 20, 2014: Life on the Coast

Nothing to Disclose

There are so many bits and bobs over the last few weeks that I can't catch up. But yesterday evening I went out with friends...had a great dinner and a little "dolphin cruise" which was great for the kiddos.

There was the coolest decal on the wall at the restaurant - Avery's in Port Aransas.

I am SO gonna paint that!

The "cruise" wasn't anything I haven't done on my boat before but somehow with friends, it's just so much more fun.

I forgot the sunscreen. So should I get a new hat?

Nah.

Leaving the dock...

I forgot my camera so I had to use the cell. Dolphins are hard to capture with a cell phone. Yeah they're porpoises. But I gave up trying to change people.

But the beach is pretty...

And the sailboats...

There's even a pirate ship now!

When it fired its guns it startled me!

And the lighthouse was gorgeous...

Especially at sunset...

And they drag a little net and put what they find in a little "pool" so the kids can see and touch (when appropriate) the sea life. They LOVED IT!

Crab

And a smooth butterfly ray...

There were tiny squid and seahorses and fish and and and...the kids went nuts.

I wore Marc Jacobs Bark as my mani and I didn't get ONE photo of it! And I'm not even sorry! I chopped my nails to nubs when I got back from Vegas - I broke some while luggage-wrangling so it was time.

But it was easy to pick out my "favorite manis of the week" since it was Digital Dozen week!

OH! And don't forget to enter the GIVEAWAY!!!  My birthday is Thursday and i'm celebrating by giving away the Colors by Llarowe Emily's Imagination Collection and the Show Me! Collection! Click the link above or on the left sidebar and GOOD LUCK!

Happy Sunday!
