*These products are Cruelty Free

butter LONDON Round-Up

Since butter LONDON is having a 50% off of their last chance shades, I thought I'd do a quick round-up post. Some of these shades are must haves for me. They're also having a 20% off your entire order deal going. It doesn't count for the 50% off shades though. See their website for details.

Some of the shades being DCd that are must-haves for me... (some of the photos are old!)

Tea and Toast

Brummie

Dosh

Tee Total

Cake-Hole

Squatter

Fiddlesticks, Jack the Lad and Scuppered

Swinger

No More Waity Katie

Scoundrel is also gorgeous and one of my favorites but I somehow don't have swatches! WHAT? So go check out Kelly's swatches of Scoundrel over at Set in Lacquer.

If your collection is missing any one of these, now's the time!

Here's the link to the butter LONDON sale. And Today through December 2, 2013, they're having a 20% off your entire order sale with the code CYBER13. (I just checked out the coupon code. It will take 20% off of anything in your cart except the 50% off items.)

Comparison Request: Chanel Rouge Noir vs piCture pOlish Vampire

Nothing to Disclose

Comparison Request
Chanel Rouge Noir vs. piCture pOlish Vampire

This morning I'm still working on some great collection posts for you but I thought I'd show you a really quick comparison between Chanel Rouge Noir and piCture pOlish Vampire.

These are not dupes, but the finished manicures do have that same vampy look about them.

As you can see, Rouge Noir is more of a crelly while Vampire is a true jelly.

This is ONE COAT of each...

As you can see, the opacity is quite different. Below is two coats of each...

I stopped at 2 coats of Rouge Noir and kept building Vampire...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There you have it! Not dupes at all. Vampire's jelly formula is great for jelly sandwiches while the crelly formula of Rouge Noir makes it opaque in two coats. So you need both. Sorry!

After Thanksgiving Christmas Nail Art Review

Nothing to Disclose

Thanksgiving dinner consumed and dishes done! NOW we can start Christmas! I'm pretty full and basically immobile at this point so I thought it would be fun, before I start doing Christmas Nails this year, to have a look at what I did last year. I was just venturing into "nail art" and trying my best, posting successes and failures.

We can compare and see if I've actually improved any - but that's a post for AFTER this Christmas.

Christmas Nail Art

Thompson Plaid - plaid always makes me think of Christmas...

Silver Stars...

Christmas Plaid and Holly...

Rudolph Nails...

Snowman Nails...

My nails will be shorter this year and I have a thin striper brush so I'm hoping for improvement!

Show me your Christmas Nails by posting them on Pointless Cafe's Facebook page between now and December 15 and I will put them all in an album and pull one winner on the 15th to receive a surprise nail mail grab bag! Very informal, open internationally, nothing required except to post a photo of your own hands/nails with a cute Christmas design. ♥

piCture pOlish Vampire: Swatches and Review

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free

piCture pOlish
Vampire

piCture pOlish Vampire is a deep, vampy, blood red jelly that is in the same vein (pun intended) as Chanel Rouge Noir and Dior Nuit 1947. They're not dupes but the finished manis have the same "look" about them. The formula and application were great and I have zero issues to report. It is a jelly though - a true jelly - which means you need to build up the layers for that juicy, super-shiny stained glass quality. I used 3 coats and no top coat but I recommend 4 light coats and will do that myself the next time I wear it.

------------------------------------------------------------------

This shade is available directly from piCture pOlish and through their Network. The Network brings piCture pOlish and Ozotic to you through their network of members worldwide. butter LONDON Bramble

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free

butter LONDON
Bramble

Today I have a quick post for you of my NOTD (Nail of the Day) - butter LONDON Bramble. I'm busy swatching a new Holiday Collection for you and cooking for Thanksgiving, but I had to stop and show you really quickly...

Bramble is a gorgeous cool-toned purple creme. Perfect and easy. A classic. No issues at all - formula and application were perfect and creamy. Two coats and no top coat for the photos.

Artificial lighting...

Indirect natural lighting...

Isn't she pretty? And you know I'm a sucker for a great creme.

butter LONDON polishes are available at butterlondon.com and selected retail stores like ULTA (and most recently, Dillard's Department Stores) and they retail for $15.00 for .4 ounces. To stay up-to-date on special deals and offers, you can "like" them on Facebook here. Bramble is just one of the over 150 colors they offer, in addition to various indulgences for your hands and feet...and even your lips. The nail lacquers are 3-free and butter LONDON is a Cruelty-Free company. That's a major plus for me.

Darling Diva Polish Diamond Holo Collection - Swatches and Review

*These products are Cruelty Free

Darling Diva Polish
Diamond Holo Collection

Top L to R: Black Diamond, Blue Diamond, Diamond
Bottom L to R: Green Diamond, Pink Diamond, Rose Diamond and Chocolate Diamond

Darling Diva has just released two new collections: the Diamond Holo Collection and the Opal Collection. Tonight I have the Diamond Holo Collection for you. These are all highly pigmented tightly scattered holographic polishes. These could all be one-coaters if you're careful I think (I used two coats for all of my swatches though) and they're also good for stamping! I tested them briefly and even though I still suck at stamping, these will be good.

Great Gift Ideas for the Holidays

I Bought This/Sent for Review

Gift Ideas for Her

I have a couple of quick gift ideas for you today - more coming as Christmas approaches!

These are a couple of things I just got today and I think either one (or both) would make fantastic gifts!

Grace & Lace Alpine Thigh Highs (boot socks) - so a friend of mine posted these on her Facebook page Friday night. I loved them and went and purchased immediately. While I was on the Grace & Lace Facebook page I noticed that they were going to air an episode of Shark Tank that they were on! So I watched - I still had their FB page open on my computer and I watched them get thousands of likes instantaneously!

So I really expected to get the ones I ordered in a few weeks. I got them TODAY. That's like basically ONE day not counting Sunday. Amazing. And I love them!

You can purchase these for $39 at the Grace & Lace online shop. Check out their other stuff too - they have lots of different kinds!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bellisimo - The Collection Clutch Set

I haven't swatched these yet (coming soon), but I don't know anyone who likes nail polish who wouldn't LOVE to get this as a gift. The clutch is awesome, well-made and you get a base and top coat along with 6 great shades. It would be great to take with you on vacation - all nestled in their lil beds inside the clutch!

There are even sewn in loops to hold your polishes securely when they're not in the box.

This Collection Clutch set retails for $150 and can be purchased at Bellisimo's site here. Stay tuned for swatches and review of the polishes.

More gift ideas coming soon...

Weekend Bits and Bobs: November 24, 2013

Nothing to Disclose

Happy Sunday everyone!

It's been COLD outside so I've been wearing my hat. I love hats.

The Day of the Doctor 50th Anniversary special has come and gone. I've seen mixed reviews but personally I LOVED IT! I really miss Tennant. #sadness

Check out all 19 of the other Doctor Whomanicures in the links here.

And my Christmas prezzie to myself arrived! (Hey, if I'm buyin' my own Christmas present, I shouldn't HAVE to wait, right?)

Dang I sure hope it works.

I broke a nail.

I tried rounded and that did not work for me at ALL so I chopped them all off.

You like my tweed nails?

My favorite mani of the week, aside from the Doctor Who mani of course, was a tie between this new one I haven't blogged yet from Above the Curve - it's called Crimson Time at Home and is part of their upcoming Christmas Collection...

...and 84 Charing Cross Road from Literary Lacquers - I created this one with Amy and I am so in love with how my vision turned out in her capable hands! You can read all about it and the other 9 in the Community Collection linked above. And check back tonight for swatches of all ten of them!

Have a great (what's left of the) weekend! ♥

Literary Lacquers: The Community Collection - 84 Charing Cross Road

*This product is Cruelty Free

Tomorrow, I am going to be showing you the entire Community Collection, a brand new collection from Literary Lacquers, which consists of 10 new collaboration shades. And I got to create one of them with Amy!!!

Literary Lacquers
The Community Collection

I'm so excited! So naturally I have to show you "mine" first! Mine is called 84 Charing Cross Road - inspired by one of my favorite movies/books. In the world of books, especially 40's era stories, which is where 84 Charing Cross Road begins, it's a sepia-toned world, much like the pages of the old tomes central to the story of Frank and Helene. The sparkling rainbow, subtle in the shade, bursts forth in the sun, like the characters of Frank and Helene bursting forth from the un-earmarked pages of 84 Charing Cross Road. For anyone who loves books, they already know this is true for all of the stories and characters and worlds that lie within the sepia-toned pages of those leather-bound treasures.

In fact he knows not to even BREATHE too loudly!

Hopefully it's going to be THAT kind of day!
