Camo Nails!

I'm determined to keep trying this nail art thing even though it's clearly NOT my forté.  But it IS fun.

Greens, specifically the "army," olive, murky greens, are my favorites so after receiving my new bundle monster brushes and dotting tools, I decided to try something I thought would be really simple.

Camouflage Nails!

And it turns out I was RIGHT!  They're totally easy. I mean think about it - it's random so you can't really mess it up. And another plus is that they look MUCH better at arms-length, which is how you and most people will see them, than they do in these close-up shots.

First thing I did was put on my camo t-shirt and go to my polishes to pick the colors. I ended up using the following:

Nails Inc. Fulham Palace Road for the base
Color Club Positively Posh for the brown
China Glaze Westside Warrior for the green and
Hard Candy Matte-ly in Love for the matte top coat

First I applied a base of Fulham Palace Road

Then I used a small flat brush for the Color Club Positively Posh...

Then a small short skinny brush for the final color, China Glaze Westside Warrior

Finally a coat of matte top coat and you're done!

And the result was something that looks as good or better on my dominant hand, which is something that always scares me about nail art.  Even I couldn't mess THIS one up!  It's not the best, but considering my previous sucky attempts at any kind of nail art, I was pretty proud. The fact that I've received a ton of compliments on it - mostly from men even - helped too. *grin*

  2. My 8 year old son is a camo FREAK! I'm not even going to show him your photos, as awesome as they are, because the expectation will be that I get in gear and paint some camo on MY nails. I am NOT a camo freak! :) Way cool though. Thanks for sharing! :)
